Aung San Suu Kyi set to make first appearance in Parliament

The leader of democracy in Myanmar is Aung San Suu Kyi and she is going to be making her first appearance in the country’s parliament this Wednesday.

She has been fighting the military dictatorship in the country for over 20 years and was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for her efforts.

Myanmar’s Parliament opens amidst major reforms

Myanmar has witnessed the opposition leader Suu Kyi fail to show up at the opening of parliament last Monday to hear the President’s reaction to the reforms that are due to take place in the country due to many of the sanctions being suspended by the EU.

Suu Kyi`s political alliance has been rejecting the request to defend the military-based constitution should any disputes against the government arise, ever since the Nobel Peace Prize holder won the seat in the parliament.
