The state of healthcare in the country provided by the Burma government is incredibly poor. It is estimated that the country spend less than three percent of their total GDP on health care services which makes it one of the worst performing countries in the world.

Healthcare is provided in the country for free, although in reality people are having to pay for treatment, even in hospitals that claim to be public. In many cases these public facilities do not even have the basic equipment to provide treatment.
