The diverse cultures of Myanmar

In Myanmar there is a wide range of different cultures but the two main ones are Bamar and Buddhism.

The Bamar culture in the country has largely come from the country’s neighbours and it can be seen represented in the country’s music, dance, cuisine, language, and even its theatre.

Myanmar festivals

Myanmar is a country with many different religions and throughout the year there are several festivals that will celebrate all of them. However, despite the religious diversity of the country, those who are not Buddhist will generally be persecuted.
